| Worry Free FinishSolid wood deserves a finish that not only highlights its beauty but also protects it from everyday life. Our finish will hold up to almost any chemical in your home, from water to wine to fingernail polish remover. It requires no waxing or oiling…just use a soft rag to wipe off whatever lands on it. Water is the primary enemy of solid wood. Our finish protects wood from water better than oils and traditional lacquers do. In most homes a small puddle of water will fully evaporate before creating any damage to a table top. While so many American manufacturers closed their factories over the past few years, we built a state-of-the-art finishing room that allows us to use the newest generation of materials while significantly reducing our employees’ exposure to volatile elements. Classic FinishesOur Classic Finishes highlight the natural beauty of solid wood. They use pigment-rich stains that are hand rubbed in a board-by-board process that creates a uniform color without “painting over” the furniture, unless (of course) you choose a paint. Heritage FinishesOur Heritage Finishes start with a different wood standard, where we leave small knots and other natural "defects" in the piece. We stop short of making the piece rustic i.e. rough in texture and heavily distressed. We conclude the process with some modest distressing and marbling. Classic Cherry

Optional Straight Skirts | Customers occasionally ask us to replace the curved or scalloped skirts found on our Cottage Bedroom and other cases with something more simple. For those folks, we gladly offer straight skirts with plain cut-out feet at no extra charge. |
Optional Bracket Feet| Many of the pieces that Tom Seely originally designed used ornate Ogee Feet, like our Nine-Pane Cupboard. We receive a number of requests for a "newer" & "cleaner" foot. Ironically, this "new" design follows the older, more traditional approach. Our Bracket Feet add 1/2 inch of extra height to a piece of furniture but no extra charge. | |
