Mt. Royal Rocker

26010

In 1896, when train travel was a core element of American life, the B&O Railroad opened its new “uptown” station in Baltimore.  Designed by renowned architects Baldwin & Pennington, the Mt. Royal Station serviced passengers traveling the famous B&O Belt Line.  It featured grandiose ceilings, both “general” and “ladies” waiting rooms, a restaurant and several comfortable rocking chairs.  The Mt. Royal Rocker is a careful reproduction of these popular chairs made under license of the B&O Railroad Museum.
