Junior Troyer purchased the workshop where he once apprenticed and started working for us in 1990. Junior’s shop, actually a converted barn, utilizes no outside electricity and runs on compressed air and hydraulics, both powered by a diesel engine. With the help of several apprentices, Junior builds more than 1,000 pieces of furniture a year. In addition to the challenge of woodworking, Junior also enjoys bird watching and keeps four Purple Martin houses behind his shop. He helps feed these birds by throwing mealworms into the air, which they catch in flight.
